Qualifying experience includes business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis and incident management, operational resilience, emergency management, and risk, IT or facilities roles carrying continuity responsibility. Experience is assessed on responsibility and functional scope, not job title alone. Roles are typical, not a restriction: eligibility is set by experience.
How the requirements apply
- Reduced requirements apply only to holders of the named credential, active and in good standing. A lapsed annual maintenance fee forfeits the reduced pathway.
- One reduction per credential. Reductions do not combine.
- Experience is declared at application and may be verified by LYL BCM at any time, including after award.
- Meeting the experience requirement allows a candidate to sit the examination. The credential is awarded only on passing the proctored examination at a minimum score of 80%, plus approved project work for CBCM® and CBCD®.

Certification Maintenance
All certifications require ongoing maintenance to uphold credibility, integrity, and global recognition. This includes:
- Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) – One fee covers all certifications held
- Continuing Professional Education (CPE) – Ensure your knowledge stays current in a rapidly evolving field
Non-compliance (failure to pay AMF or submit CPE) will result in certification being placed in suspension, maintaining the global trust and value of the credential.
